Correction Policy

At H.P. Times, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and transparency in our reporting. We recognize that errors can occur despite our best efforts. When mistakes happen, we correct them promptly and clearly, ensuring our readers always receive fair and reliable information.

Our Commitment

  • Based on the greatest information available at the time of publishing, we aim to provide thorough and accurate news stories.
  • We accept responsibility and make the necessary corrections as soon as errors or missing information are found.
  • In order for us to quickly correct any inaccuracies, readers are urged to assist us by pointing them out.

Updating a Story

  • We notify readers in the article when a story has been updated with new information, clarifications, or errors.
  • A correction notice at the start or finish of the piece highlights significant corrections.
  • We welcome suggestions for corrections through our official email: hptimes.in@gmail.com.

Revisions

  • Transparency shall be maintained when making significant changes to articles, headlines, images, captions, graphics, or videos.
  • There will be a brief explanation of the change after every adjustment.

Clarifications

  • We will provide explanations to eliminate any ambiguity if the facts are accurate but the wording can lead to misunderstandings.
  • When required, clarifications may also contain further background information or viewpoints.

Editor’s Notes

  • An Editor’s Note may be written to clarify the context of a correction for matters of broader importance.
  • Senior editors approve the Editor’s Notes.

Reporting Inaccuracies

  • If there are errors, readers can write us directly or use the “Suggest a Correction” option, if it is accessible.
  • Every request for correction will be examined and handled right away.

Take-Down Requests

  • Generally speaking, unless there are exceptional circumstances involving ethical, legal, or privacy issues, H.P. Times does not delete or “unpublish” stories.
  • We may choose to amend or provide context on previously published content rather than remove it if fairness demands it.

Content Modification

  • To maintain the authenticity and integrity of our reporting, any changes are made carefully.
  • Silent changes are not what we do. The narrative will mention any notable changes.

Use of Technology

While our corrections are handled by editors and journalists, we may use AI tools to assist with grammar, clarity, and verification. However, all editorial decisions are human-driven.
